Is there anything quite like a sappy, indie romance movie to watch on a weekend night? Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel play two coworkers who start as friends and then embark on a romance that turns tragic. The movie is fun to watch not only because it’s a classic romantic movie, but because its storytelling is unlike any other. The movie experiments with different narrative and framing techniques. The other great thing about “(500) Days Of Summer” is that neither Levitt’s nor Deschanel’s characters are portrayed as totally lovable, They’re more like real people, in that they’re going to make poor decisions and sometimes act selfishly.
