The STARZ Play Arabia mobile application now supports Chromecast, allowing users to stream blockbuster movies and TV series straight to their televisions.
Google’s Chromecast is a media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port of a television set. It allows users to cast their favorite HD movies and series from their mobile devices straight to their TV.
Chromecast essentially turns an iOS and Android smartphone or tablet into a powerful remote. STARZ Play Arabia subscribers simply have to open the STARZ Play app and tap the Cast button to begin streaming the content on their device to the TV. It’s easy to search for and browse content from a smartphone or tablet, and users can continue using the device for other things without disrupting what’s playing or draining their battery.
Danny Bates, CSO at STARZ Play Arabia and the Chromecast project leader, said, “By introducing STARZ Play as a Chromecast supported app, we’ve created another way for subscribers to enjoy a ‘big-screen’ version of our content. Our viewers already have a variety of ways to watch and by providing the ability to cast movies and series to their TV sets via Chromecast we’re able to further improve the user experience.”
Users in the Middle East can purchase the latest Google Chromecast from authorized resellers in the region. Once Chromecast has been set-up, the STARZ Play app will automatically be able to cast HD movies and series from an iOS and Android mobile device straight to the connected TV.
