1. Devil: Based on a story penned by M Night Shyamalan, Devil is a short and crisp supernatural horror film starring Chris Messina, Logan Marshall-Green, Geoffrey Arend, Bojana Novakovic, Jenny O’Hara, and Bokeem Woodbine. It’s a normal day in Philadelphia until a jumper commits suicide. Meanwhile, five strangers are caught in an elevator stuck inside the same skyscraper from where the person jumped to his death. It seems like there are five individuals in the lift but who’s the fifth one? A shapeshifting Devil maybe? Scary and spine-chilling, the movie has the potential to leave you on the edge of your seat by the time it ends.

• Unborn: What starts off as a mere hallucination turns into a complete nightmare for Odette Yustman as Casey Beldon when her unborn brother wants to use her death to come into physical existence. Tormented by the dybbuk’s presence, Casey seeks the help of a Rabi Gary Oldman. A dybbuk is a malicious entity believed to be the dislocated soul of a dead person.  Jewish myths and unborn children form the crux of this horror flick. Produced by Michael Bay, watch your superstitions come alive with the Unborn!

• Truth or Dare: It’s all fun and games until you die! Starring Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey and Violett Beane, a harmless game of truth or dare turn deadly when the ones who lie or do not play by the rules end up dead. Looking for plain jane jump scares? We dare you to watch this!

• Dead Awake: Picture being stuck in a dream state and unable to shake it off! Unleashing the horrors of sleep paralysis on the viewers, we recommend you stay Dead Awake for this one. Starring Jocelin Donahue, Jesse Bradford and Jesse Borrego amongst others, Jocelin plays the role of a social worker investigating a series of deaths after her twin sister dies mysteriously. A doctor warns her of an evil spirit haunting each of the dead in their sleep, she fears the same entity may be haunting herself and her loved ones too.

• Quarantine: Does the name ring a bell? The movie may have been set 12 years back but it’s a rather apt description of our current state of mind! Cathartic really. Quarantine is a 2008 American science fiction horror film directed by John Erick Dowdle and starring Jennifer Carpenter, Jay Hernandez, Columbus Short, Greg Germann, Steve Harris, Dania Ramirez, Rade Sherbedgia and Johnathon Schaech. Shot like a documentary, the movie is as real as it can get. When a deadly virus plagues the city of Los Angeles, all hell breaks loose! We would know, wouldn’t we!
