- Everybody Loves Raymond: Celebrated sportswriter Ray Barone has it all. A loving wife, a beautiful home in Long Island, an illustrious career, but there’s only one problem that gets in the way of his perfect life. His annoyingly nagging parents who live across the road and his jealous brother who can never seem to be happy for Ray. Starring ace comedian Roy Ramona who also executive produced the show alongside David Letterman. The long-running series made Roy a household name!
- Frasier: Dr. Frasier Winslow Crane is a fictional character on the American television sitcoms Cheers and Frasier, portrayed by Kelsey Grammer. The character debuted in the Cheers third season premiere as Diane Chambers’s love interest followed by having his very own spin-off show Frasier. Dr. Frasier Crane, a successful Boston therapist, moves to Seattle to get a new start on life. He has a radio talk show, which he uses to relay his wit and wisdom to others, but at times he struggles with his problems with his salty father, his pretentious brother, and his friends and co-workers. Laughter is the best therapy, no doubt!
- Modern Family: The pandemic may have made it difficult for us to visit our families but there’s the light-hearted series – Modern Family that will always have our back. 11 seasons worth of relentless giggles, we welcomed the sitcom’s extended family of dysfunctional individuals into our home as if they were our own relatives and we’ll be doing so for a long time now that the complete series is streaming on STARZPLAY! The bored kids sit on the sofa and listen as dad indulges them with tales of his pursuit of romance. Why is the show a must-watch? It’s as real as it can get for it brings to light childhood traumas, friendship’s ups and downs, financial problems, love crises, first car, marriage, pregnancy, embarrassing situations and overestimated expectations albeit in a humorous way and the best part – the mysterious mother remains a mystery right until the very end!
- Last Man Standing: Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a macho marketing executive at a sporting-goods store, decides to spend less time travelling for work and more time at home with his wife (Nancy Travis) and three daughters in the first series of this sitcom. He becomes more involved in his daughters’ lives, and even tries to help eldest daughter, Kristin (Alexandra Krosney), with her young son, but he winds up getting the child kicked out of daycare. Some of his other missteps include encouraging his teenager Mandy (Molly Ephraim) to get a job delivering pizzas at night, which his wife worries is unsafe; and giving tomboy Eve (Kaitlyn Dever) some football advice, which leads to her injuring a boy on whom she has a crush. A classic comedy of errors but also a feel-good sitcom that will leave you with a smile!
- Fresh off the Boat: The first Asian American sitcom on television in more than 20 years, Fresh Off the Boat is loosely based on celebrity chef Eddie Huang’s life. Follow a Taiwanese family’s journey in living the American Dream – The first season of this sitcom follows the Huang family as they deal with culture shock during their transition from life in Chinatown in Washington, D.C, to operating a steak restaurant in Orlando during the mid-90s. The show’s protagonist and oldest of the siblings, Eddie (Hudson Yang), struggles in his new school and fit in with peers, while his brothers Emery (Forrest Wheeler) and Evan (Ian Chen) have no trouble adapting at all. Their mother, Jessica (Constance Wu), is a strong-willed, traditional-minded woman who relentlessly pressures her children to excel academically while remaining in touch with their Taiwanese heritage. Louis (Randall Park), the father of the family, is a kind yet naïve man who wants to embraces the concept of the American Dream and is determined to have his new steakhouse, Cattleman’s Ranch, succeed at all costs.
- The Office: A remarkable and situational comedy, The Office is a mockumentary sitcom on the typical day of an office employee in Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Funny and so relatable especially if you’ve hated your boss or job at any given point. Steve Carell leaves behind an impeccable performance winning accolades in his name alongside Ed Helms and John Krasinski who tickle your funny bone too! Like its British counterpart, the series has been shot like a documentary with a single camera setup and no laugh track in the background.
