“Serie A” Kicks Off Live and Exclusively on STARZPLAY on 22 August
Inter begin their Scudetto defence as AC Milan, Napoli and Lazio enter the season under new management
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 20 August 2026: STARZPLAY has announced the live and exclusive coverage of the 2026/27 Serie A season across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with the action kicking off on Saturday, 22 August.
Inter enter the new season as defending champions after securing their 21st Scudetto last season, while several of Italy’s leading clubs prepare to challenge for the crown under new leadership. AC Milan begin a new chapter under Rúben Amorim, Massimiliano Allegri takes charge of Napoli and Gennaro Gattuso begins his tenure at Lazio, while Gian Piero Gasperini enters his second season with Roma.
The season will feature 20 clubs competing across 38 rounds and 380 matches, with AC Milan, Napoli, Juventus, Roma and Lazio looking to challenge Inter for the Serie A title. The campaign will also see clubs battling for European qualification and to retain their place in Italy’s top flight.
Como enter the campaign following a landmark season in which they finished fourth, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history. They begin their new season away to Udinese on 22 August.
The new season also welcomes three promoted clubs: Venezia, Frosinone and Monza. Venezia return following promotion from Serie B, while Frosinone make their return to the top flight after a two-season absence. Monza secured their place in Serie A through the promotion play-offs.
The opening round brings several of the season’s key storylines into focus from the outset. Inter begin their title defence against Monza on Saturday, 22 August, while Napoli travel to Genoa for Allegri’s first Serie A appearance with his new club. The action continues Sunday, 23 August, as Frosinone mark their return to the top flight against Juventus, while Amorim faces his first Serie A test with AC Milan away to Torino. The round’s headline fixtures conclude on Monday, 24 August, when Roma face Fiorentina.
